This crisp, bitter, and smoky Non-Alcoholic Fireside Cocktail is a unique and lightly sweet autumnal drink. It's perfect for enjoying on a chilly autumn evening spent by the fire.
Smoke a small sprig of rosemary and place it on a plate. We use a kitchen torch for this but a match works too.
Quickly put a rocks glass on top of the rosemary as it's smoking.** Let it rest like that while you make the cocktail.
Fill a cocktail shaker with the remaining ingredients then add ice. Shake for 10 seconds until chilled.
Turn the rocks glass over and fill with ice. Strain the cocktail into the glass.
Garnish with the smoked rosemary sprig. We like to re-smoke it, but that's optional. Enjoy!
Notes
We use a clear spiced apple cider. If you use a cloudy one, just note that your drink might look more opaque.
Make sure there's no active, burning flame when you cover the rosemary sprig. You want it to smoke not burn.
Smoking the glass with the rosemary imparts a smoky flavor to the drink. We also like to re-smoke the rosemary garnish because it smells nice and smoky each time you go for a sip.
