This crisp, bitter, and smoky Non-Alcoholic Fireside Cocktail is a unique and lightly sweet autumnal drink. It’s perfect for enjoying on a chilly autumn evening spent by the fire.
If you’re looking for something to get you in the fall spirit, this Non-Alcoholic Fireside Cocktail is absolutely perfect. It reminds us of a moody, wet fall day when you can smell the smoky scent of firewood in the air.
It’s lightly sweet with a bitter finish, and the spice comes through from the Kentucky 74 Spiced and apple cider. A key ingredient is the Pathfinder Spirit which gives it a woodsy, bitter flavor that fits in with the season.

Ingredient Notes
The full list of ingredients and their quantities is in the recipe card below. Here you’ll find notes on specific ingredients as well as any substitutions.
- Pathfinder Spirit: This booze-free spirit gives the cocktail so much complexity and makes it feel much more grown up. It’s quite bitter on its own, but it’s great in this fireside cocktail.
- Kentucky 74 Spiced: This is one of our favorite alcohol-free spirits. It’s full of cinnamon flavor and spices up any drink you add it to.
- Spiced Apple Cider: We use a clarified/clear apple cider. If you only have unfiltered cider, just note that your drink might look a little cloudy.
- Lemon Juice: Always use freshly squeezed!
- Pure Maple Syrup: For a touch of sweetness.
- Fresh Rosemary: You’ll need 1 sprig.

📖 Recipe
Fireside Cocktail (Non-Alcoholic)
Ingredients
- 1 sprig rosemary
- 1 oz (30 ml) Pathfinder Spirit
- 1 oz (30 ml) Spiritless Kentucky 74 Spiced
- 1 ½ oz (45 ml) spiced apple cider *
- ½ oz (15 ml) fresh lemon juice
- ¼ oz (7.5 ml) pure maple syrup
Instructions
- Smoke a small sprig of rosemary and place it on a plate. We use a kitchen torch for this but a match works too.
- Quickly put a rocks glass on top of the rosemary as it's smoking.** Let it rest like that while you make the cocktail.
- Fill a cocktail shaker with the remaining ingredients then add ice. Shake for 10 seconds until chilled.
- Turn the rocks glass over and fill with ice. Strain the cocktail into the glass.
- Garnish with the smoked rosemary sprig. We like to re-smoke it, but that's optional. Enjoy!
Notes
- We use a clear spiced apple cider. If you use a cloudy one, just note that your drink might look more opaque.
- Make sure there’s no active, burning flame when you cover the rosemary sprig. You want it to smoke not burn.
- Smoking the glass with the rosemary imparts a smoky flavor to the drink. We also like to re-smoke the rosemary garnish because it smells nice and smoky each time you go for a sip.
