If you've ever wanted to make a specialty cafe drink at home, this Roasted Banana Hojicha Latte is the perfect thing to make on a cozy weekend. It's made with hojicha tea, homemade banana milk, and a layer of salted vanilla sweet cream.
½large bananasliced lengthwise from a whole banana
Ground cinnamon
¾cup(180ml)whole milk
2tsphojicha powdersifted
¼cup(60ml)hot waterNOT boiling
Salted Vanilla Cream
2tbspwhole milk
2tbsp heavy cream
Generous pinch of flaky sea salt
¼tspvanilla bean paste
2tsplight agave nectar

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F (205°C) and line a small baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place the banana half cut side up on the baking sheet and sprinkle the top with cinnamon. Bake for 20 minutes.
Let the banana cool for at least 5 minutes then place it in a blender with the milk. Blend until just combined and set aside.
For the hojicha layer, whisk the hojicha powder and hot water in a small bowl until frothy.
In another small bowl, add the ingredients for the salted vanilla cream and use a handheld milk frother to blend for 1-2 minutes or until thickened.
Add a bit of ice to the bottom of a tall glass and pour in the banana milk followed by the hojicha tea. Finish it off with the salted vanilla cream and enjoy!
