This Non-Alcoholic Amaretto Sour is made with zero-proof spirits and has all the components of a classic cocktail minus the booze.

Sours are one of our favorite drinks to mimic because we love the combination of sweet, sour, and foamy. This Non-Alcoholic Amaretto Sour has all three and as a bonus, there’s no buzz after drinking it. It’s tart, lightly sweet, and has a subtle hint of almond from Lyres’ Amaretti spirit, an alternative for almond liqueur.
We do a typical dry shake to get those foamy bubbles then shake with ice to make it nice and cold. For more alcohol-free cocktails, try our Clover Club Cocktail and this Lavender Bee’s Knees.

Ingredient Notes
Ingredient quantities are listed in the recipe card at the bottom of the post. Here you’ll find notes on why we chose certain ingredients as well as any substitutions.
- Lyre’s Amaretti: This is a zero-proof alternative for amaretto that has a subtle almond flavor.
- Lyre’s American Malt: You can use another brand of non-alcoholic bourbon if you’d like.
- Lemon Juice: Freshly squeezed juice is best.
- Simple Syrup: This adds just a touch of sweetness to balance out the tart flavors in the drink.
- Aromatic Bitters: We use a few dashes of Angostura bitters to give the cocktail more body and zing.
- Egg white: This creates a smooth texture and adds that classic foamy top. If you want an alternative, you can substitute it for aquafaba.
- Luxardo Cherry: The gold standard for cocktail cherries. They’re sweet, syrupy, and create a flavor bomb when paired with this non-alcoholic amaretto sour.
Bar Tools
- Cocktail Shaker (with a strainer)
- Jigger
- Citrus Juicer
- Rocks Glass

Expert Tips
- Don’t skip the Luxardo cherry. The taste of biting into the cherry and taking a sip of this drink is heavenly.
- Chill your glass beforehand. To keep your drink cooler for longer, place your drinking glass in the freezer for 5 minutes until frosty.
FAQ
This is when you shake all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker without the ice. This is common for drinks with egg whites because it allows the foam to build and creates a smooth texture.
Always buy pasteurized egg whites if you’re going to be consuming them in a cocktail. They’re usually safe and the risk of salmonella is very low. We don’t recommend omitting it since you’ll miss out on texture and foam, but you can use an alternative like aquafaba.
