This non-alcoholic la vie en rose cocktail is the quintessential Valentine’s Day drink. It’s made with alcohol-free spirits and a splash of rose and lychee syrup.
This recipe was inspired by the La Vie en Rose cocktail at Boucherie in New York. We’ve never actually been, but it’s been a place on our must-go list for a while. We love the old world interior and found a lot of inspiration from their drink menu.
We set out to create our own version of their famous pink cocktail minus the alcohol. The original has lychee liqueur which we replaced with lychee syrup and rose syrup. Both add a fruity, slightly floral flavor that’s super addicting.
And of course, we topped it all off with some non-alcoholic bubbly. It’s perfect for Valentine’s Day or special occasions! For more alcohol-free pink drinks, try our Pink Clover Cocktail and Floradora Cocktail.
Ingredient Notes
Ingredient quantities are listed in the recipe card below. Here you’ll find notes on why we chose certain ingredients as well as any substitutions.
- Cranberries: They add a touch of tartness and a light fruity flavor.
- Non-Alcoholic Gin: Lyre’s Dry London Spirit is usually our go-to.
- Lychee Syrup: This has a sweet almost pear-like taste with some floral notes, and it pairs really well with the rose syrup!
- Rose Syrup: It wouldn’t be a la vie en rose cocktail without the rose flavor!
- Lemon Juice: This cuts some of the sweetness and adds a bit of acidity to the cocktail. Freshly squeezed is best.
- Non-Alcoholic Sparkling White Wine: We use Noughty’s Sparkling “Chardonnay”. It has a drier taste that balances out the sweetness of the syrups.
Bar Tools
- Cocktail Shaker (with a strainer)
- Muddler
- Jigger
- Citrus Juicer
- Coupe Glass
Expert Tip
Chill the “spirits” before using. The colder temperature helps the liquid to retain more CO2 (bubbles), giving you a fizzier more crisp drink.
FAQ
Both the lychee and rose syrup are from Monin, which we ordered off of Amazon.
The Noughty brand that we use for this recipe is available on Amazon, Boisson, and No & Low. If you’re lucky, your grocery store or liquor store might even stock it.
Lyre’s is our go-to for most recipes with zero proof gin, but you can also use Ritual Zero Proof Gin or Drink Monday Gin. We’ve actually seen all three of these in brick and mortar stores, so you might even find some while grocery shopping.
