This Non-Alcoholic Aperol Spritz is a booze-free version of a classic Italian summer cocktail. It’s wonderfully refreshing, bittersweet, and made with zero-proof spirits.

Non-Alcoholic Aperol Spritz with half an orange wheel.

An Aperol Spritz is one of Italy’s classic Aperitivo cocktails, typically enjoyed before dinner to kickstart one’s appetite. Oftentimes, it’s paired with small plates of food but you can choose to sip on it by itself whenever you like.

This Non-Alcoholic Aperol Spritz is just as easy to make and mimics the bittersweet cocktail with zero-proof spirits in place of the Aperol and Prosecco. A splash of club soda tops it all off and an orange slice adds to the final presentation and gives the drink a hint of fruitiness.

Enjoy this by the poolside, on the patio, or wherever you see fit. You can even try it with our Nduja Bruschetta for the full Aperitivo experience!

    Ingredient Notes

The full list of ingredients and their quantities is in the recipe card below. Here you’ll find notes on specific ingredients as well as any substitutions.

    • Lyre’s Italian Spritz: This zero-proof spirit was made for Aperol spritzes! It’s what gives the drink that familiar bitter citrus flavor.
    • Lyre’s Classico: A sweet and bubbly Prosecco alternative.
    • Club Soda: Just a splash to top it all off.

    Bar Tools

    • Jigger
    • Large Wine Glass or Large Stemmed Glass
Hand pouring club soda into a stemmed glass filled with ice, zero-proof Aperol, and alcohol-free Prosecco.

    Expert Tip

Chill your ingredients at least 1 hour beforehand. That way your cocktail is perfectly crisp and bubbly.

    FAQ

What goes in an Aperol Spritz?

Traditionally, Aperol, Prosecco, and soda water are built in a glass to make an Aperol Spritz. To make it non-alcoholic, we replaced the first two ingredients with alcohol-free alternatives.

Are there other substitutes for Aperol?

Yes, we like Wilfred’s Aperitif which has a hint of rosemary. You may need to adjust it to your taste though since it has less sugar than the Lyre’s Italian Spritz.
