This sweet and nutty Maple Tahini Latte is dairy-free and comes together in just 10 minutes. It’s super simple and sure to warm you up on a chilly day.
Though the weather here in Austin shows no signs of fall, this maple tahini latte is just the thing to get us in the mood for the cozier seasons. It’s wonderfully creamy with a hint of nuttiness from the tahini, and it’s not too sweet.
All it requires is heating some milk up on the stove then mixing everything together until foamy. Enjoy it with breakfast, brunch, or by itself with a few tea biscuits.
Ingredient Notes
Find the full list of ingredients, measurements, and instructions in the recipe card below!
- Espresso: Lavazza’s Crema e Aroma is our go-to choice of espresso.
- Barista Blend Almond Milk: We use Califia for this maple tahini latte. Feel free to use another dairy-free alternative like coconut milk.
- Tahini: Stir it before using.
- Pure Maple Syrup: If you use an unsweetened almond milk, you may need to add more to your taste.
- Flaky sea salt: This ties all the flavors together.
Expert Tips
- Use a barista blend almond milk. Regular almond milk tends to have a burnt taste when heated and steamed, whereas a barista blend is creamier and retains a smoother taste. If you use another nut milk or oat milk, we still recommend using a barista blend.
- Don’t skip the salt. It helps to reduce the bitterness from the espresso and tahini. Sometimes, we like to add a big pinch to make it a salted latte.

📖 Recipe
Maple Tahini Latte
Equipment
- Espresso Machine
- Small Saucepan
Ingredients
- 2 shots espresso
- ¾ cup (180 ml) barista blend almond milk we use Califia
- 1 tbsp tahini
- 1 ½ tbsp pure maple syrup
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon plus more for garnish
- 1 pinch flaky sea salt
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Add the espresso to a mug and set aside.
- Pour the almond milk into a small saucepan and place over medium heat. Heat until steamy and simmering.
- Turn off the heat and add the tahini, maple syrup, cinnamon, and good pinch of flaky sea salt.
- Use a handheld milk frother to mix and froth the milk.
- Pour the milk over the espresso and top with cinnamon and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
Notes
- Almond Milk: Barista blend almond milk is thicker and froths much better than regular almond milk. Plus, it doesn’t have that burnt taste that regular almond milk has when heated.
- Feel free to use any other kind of milk. Though, we recommend sticking with a barista blend if you’re using nut or oat milk.
