    Salted Maple Cinnamon Cold Brew.

We posted this recipe on our Instagram back in September 2021 and decided to finally give it a proper home here on our blog. If you’re a fan of sweet and salty combinations, this is the drink for you!

All you need is your favorite cold brew coffee and a few staple ingredients to make this Salted Maple Cinnamon Cold Brew. We like to sip on it while we do work on the computer or as an indulgent drink to pair with breakfast.

    Why You’ll Love This Recipe

    • Autumnal Flavors: The salt enhances the flavor of the maple syrup so you get a pop of maple in every sip. Plus a sprinkling of cinnamon makes the drink smell and taste even cozier.
    • Homemade Cafe-Style Drink: This is like one of those specialty drinks you can get at a local coffee shop except it’s all homemade. You don’t have to drive anywhere for a tasty coffee drink, just make it at home!
    • Easy to Make: Just blend all the ingredients together and pour it over your favorite cold brew coffee.

    Ingredient Notes

Ingredient quantities are listed in the recipe card at the bottom of the post. Here you’ll find notes on why we chose certain ingredients as well as any substitutions.

    • Cold Brew: We’ve made this drink with regular and vanilla cold brew. Either one works!
    • Half & Half: If you don’t have any, substitute it with half milk half cream.
    • Heavy Cream: For a rich and creamy top layer.
    • Maple Syrup: Make sure you’re using 100% pure maple syrup.
    • Cinnamon: We like to sprinkle a little extra on top.
    • Flaky Sea Salt: We use Maldon.

    Step-by-Step Instructions

This section provides a general overview as well as any pictures to guide you through the recipe. The full detailed recipe instructions are in the recipe card at the bottom of the post.

Milk frother with small jug of whipped maple cream.
Cream being poured into a glass with ice and cold brew.

STEP 1: Make the maple cold foam. Use a handheld milk frother to combine the half & half, heavy cream, maple syrup, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk for about 1 minute until thickened.

STEP 2: Add the cold foam to the coffee. Pour the cold brew into a glass filled with ice and pour over the maple cream. Finish it off with a sprinkle of cinnamon and flaky sea salt.

    FAQ

Can I use fine sea salt?

We recommend sticking with flaky sea salt since it’s much easier to over-salt with granulated/fine salt. You would need a much smaller amount and it isn’t ideal for garnishing the drink since it will just dissolve into the top.

What can I use in place of the half & half?

As mentioned in the ingredients section above, you can substitute the half & half with half milk half cream. So all together, you’d need 1 tbsp of milk and 3 tbsp of heavy cream for the cold foam.
